Once again, the rain was the one to be beated last weekend. In addition to complicate the Saturday trials, it didn't allow the finals to be concluded, then the race champions were declared by their best E.T. during the weekend. Even this way, the drivers had a great performance, and some classes had new records.
The Saturday morning was rainy, and no trials occurred. In the afternoon when the rain gave a break, the races finally started and could happened thru 1:30am on Sunday.
To prove that no water could hold the racers fire, Heron Ungaretti had set the new record for the Standard Class.
The car is equipped with FuelTech's RacePRO 1Fi, Fire 4S ,Peak and Hold and Wideband-O2 Datalloger systems, and crossed the track in 12s860!! Still on saturday, the driver Thiago Augusto from Nicola Racing Team made history in Brazilian Drag Racing as the first FWD Street Car to run in the 9's.
The Sunday morning was cloudy, but with no rain, and the races could go ahead quietly.
The winner of DO Class was Clovis Waechter from ServCar Team, who did a great tuning to his FuelTech EMS and did let the car in amazing conditions to run 12s295, very close to the Class record. In the DS Class the victory was to Marcelo Griebler, with his VW 2.2 16v NA engined car, tuned by HG Engines, who had set the E.T. of 10s785.
One of the most difficult classes to run in is DT-B where many racers are running in the same E.T., making the difference only by their reaction times. The winner in this class was Roni Mendonça from Lelo Motorsport with the lowest the E.T. of 11s187.
The DT-A Class had a new "historical" record holder since Saturday as we said, but no one can forget that this is the class where race by race the record is going down, and in the Sunday it wouldn't be different at all.
Ricardo de Paula, known as "Kiki", and from the same team, won the race and did set the new Class record with the E.T. of 9s930.
Another highlight was the driver Jader Krolow from Saudt Motorsports, and his FLD Class car, that using all FuelTech's products runned flat 9's. Cacá Daud from FuelTech/ATS Team also made some passes but had several problems with the transmission during all the event.
After a year out of the racing circle, Alex Wagner returned driving Leonardo Garcia's Beetle, and showed us that he's always ready for fight in FLT Class.
The TO Class had very exciting heads up races against Fords and Chevys during all the weekend, and in the finals the winner was Leovaldo Petry with his Ford Maverick. A special reference to driver Rafael Stadler and his beautiful blue Chevy #8, which runned 11s4 in his first race with the new engine using all FuelTech's products line, only 0.3s from the national Class record.
The TT Class had an only driver running, Gustavo Simon. The car also uses FuelTech's products and did the best pass with 12s5@115mph.
In the EST Class the contest was between drivers Eduardo Andretta and Laudemir Benete, both running VW engined cars with FuelTech's EMS. The win went to Laudemir with the best E.T. of 9s4.
By the Import Class, Anderson Dick, from FuelTech, once again was the fastest of the weekend with his Turbocharged Chevrolet Calibra which runs all FuelTech's products and also a BullsEye S372R unit.
The Championship Final Results will be released during the week by the organizers and the award ceremony will be at Velopark on December 4th.
